How many mothers tell their children to eat breakfast, no matter how big a hurry you were in, mothers make sure all the kids eat before leaving the house. Well, your mom was right; breakfasts are the most important meal of the day. After you have slept all night, your body needs fuel so you have the energy to face your day. It does not matter so much what you eat, just that you give your body some food.
Some people think that skipping breakfast will help them lose weight, or that if they do not have breakfast they can have dessert after dinner. This is a bad habit to get into; breakfast gives us the energy we need to make it through our morning. Many people can admit they have skipped breakfast more than once and when they do they usually do not have a good morning. You can get much more done when eating in the morning.
There are many fast food options for breakfast, some much healthier than others. With so many choices, it is easy just to hit the drive-thru on the way to work. This is certainly not the most economical breakfast and if you choose a bacon, egg and cheese biscuit every morning, it is not the healthiest option either. There are those people that eat the same breakfast every day of the world; I guess they just know what their body needs to get through the morning. For example, some individuals eat oatmeal or yogurt and a glass of milk every day. It is all right to change, however some people just know what they have a taste for.
Weekends are a great time to have a family breakfast; families sometimes love to have brunch around lunchtime on Saturday or Sunday. Everyone gathers in the kitchen or at a restaurant, ordering pancakes or waffles and bacon with cheesy scrambled eggs; or sometimes homemade biscuits and country ham.
You should try once a month going out to eat with some friends. Choose a nice restaurant and indulge in decadent breakfasts you would not normally have; eggs benedicts is always a good choice. Then go shopping after, so you burn a lot of energy after that meal.
Sometimes it is hard to get the children to eat a healthy breakfast before school; there are many easy and healthy recipes that you can try. Peanut butter or cheese toast may be their favorite. They can take it with them if they tend to move slow in the morning.
Whatever you choose for breakfast, just remember that it is important to choose healthy recipes. It is what gives us the energy to face our day; so we can meet our challenges with a smile.
